The World Health Organization estimates that approximately 8 million deaths each year are attributable to air pollution, both indoors (4.3 million) and outdoors (3.7 million). This is 0.1% of the world population who, especially in low-middle-income countries, suffer from the use of fuels such as wood, coal and organic residues in appliances without an emissions abatement system.
A situation that closely affects Europe, so much so that the European Environment Agency itself has estimated that in Italy premature deaths from long-term exposure to fine particles (Pm10 and Pm2.5), nitrogen dioxide (No2) , carbon monoxide (Co2) and ozone (O3) exceed 80,000.

The estimates of the World Health Organization on atmospheric pollution: to that caused by fine and ultra-thin dust, there is the indoor one caused by the use of coal or wood stoves for cooking and heating the rooms.
